Our kindergarten and first-grade classes provide a rich, balanced foundation for a lifetime of learning. Our program focuses on helping each child reach their full potential—academically, socially, and spiritually—through individualized instruction and hands-on exploration. With small class sizes and a nurturing environment, students thrive as they build confidence, independence, and a love for learning.
Children are guided through strong phonics and reading instruction, foundational math concepts, and meaningful lessons in science and social studies that highlight God’s world and His people. Each week is filled with opportunities for creativity and growth through enrichment classes such as art, music, STEM, technology, physical education, and recess—all designed to inspire curiosity and joy in learning.

My husband and I live in Elon with our two daughters and our sweet little spoiled rotten dog, Rosey. My husband and I have been married for 24 years. One daughter is in high school, and the other will be going to college this year.
I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Greensboro College. I previously taught kindergarten and 1st Grade in the public school system before staying at home with my girls. I have been on staff at TLC for eight years, and I am an active member at Harvest. I love teaching our awesome kindergarten students because they are so full of energy and kindness.
I was born in Germany and spoke German until I started kindergarten, when my family moved to the United States. I attended Appalachian State, where I majored in Elementary Education, and began a decade of teaching third grade in Wake County. After completing a master's degree at NC State, my husband and I moved to Burlington, where I taught preschool before our youngest daughter was born. We have three girls who have benefited from the Learning Center's excellent education.
I'm excited to get to know your child and your family. It's always a joy to learn how each child learns best and to adapt to their specific needs. What an amazing year it's going to be!
My husband is the Executive Pastor at Harvest and together we have 3 children (20, 19, and 18).
This is my eighteenth year at The Learning Center! Twelve of those years have been in Kindergarten and I have enjoyed my time here so much. I love seeing each of the kids learn and grow, some academically, some socially, or emotionally. It’s great to see their faces light up when they realize they can read or when they make a new friend.
It’s been such a blessing to be able to watch so many kids grow in their confidence and in what they know, but the best thing about my job has been teaching our students about God and His Word. The children ask the best questions as they hear more about Him as the year goes on. Conversations with these kiddos are the best!

My faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of my life and guides both my personal and professional journeys. I strive to reflect Christian values by supporting students not only in their education but also in their character, helping them grow in a personal relationship with Jesus.
I have 20 years of experience as an instructional assistant in a variety of educational settings. I am passionate about building strong, meaningful relationships with each student and creating a positive, encouraging learning environment.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time at home with my husband and our sweet dogs. I am blessed with a daughter and son who are both married and live nearby, allowing us to stay closely connected as a family.
