4 Year Olds

Overview & Options

Our Pre-K4 program is designed to get our students ready and prepared to successfully begin Kindergarten.  We strive to perfect a balance of play and academics.  We integrate the Abeka Curriculum, in addition to other materials and resources, in order to allow children to move from letter recognition to emerging readers.  Our classes practice daily routines, individual organization, Bible lessons, math, reading and a general love of learning.

Ms. Chance

I am excited to be a part of The Learning Center family again this year!  An Oklahoma native, I graduated from UNC-Charlotte and lived in Matthews, NC for twenty years before moving to the Alamance County area in 2017.  My husband and I have four children--Emma, Will, Wyatt, and Ava Grace.  We live on a small farm where we grow lots of fruits and vegetables along with raising chickens and pigs.

I love teaching and have taught preschool through 12th grade throughout my career.  As I begin this new season with your child, I want to thank you for trusting me to help guide and teach him/her.  I look forward to the memories we will make together!

Ms. Jill

I was born in Germany and spoke German until I started kindergarten at which point my family moved to the United States.  I attended Appalachian State where I majored in Elementary Education and began a decade of teaching third grade in Wake County.  After completing a master's degree at NC State, my husband and I moved to Burlington where I taught preschool before our youngest daughter was born.  We have three girls that have been, or will be, part of the Learning Center's excellent education.

I'm excited to get to know your child and your family.  It's always a joy to learn how each child best learns and for me to adapt to their specific needs.  What an amazing year it's going to be!

Ms. Tammy

This is my second year at The Learning Center.  I am a retired teacher having worked for ABSS for 30 years at several of their elementary schools.  I began my career working with 4-year-olds and have circled back to that age group.  It is exciting being back with the young children.  We will have fun learning and growing together.

I look forward to getting to know each of you throughout the school year.
